Raketa Copernic "Copernicus" is the perfect option to impress

The Raketa “Copernicus” watch was launched in the 1980s, and it is no coincidence that it bears the name of the famous astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus.

Its design is entirely inspired by Copernicus’ theory of the Universe, which led to a fundamental revolution in the science of the 16th century: the Sun lies at the centre of the system, and all the planets revolve around it (and not the other way round as had been thought up to then).

The unique design of the Kopernik represents the Sun and the Moon in a simplistic but clever way – the hour hand is a golden disc, being the Sun, and the minute hand is a black ring, being the Moon.

Beating away inside is Raketa’s own manually wound calibre 2609, a reliable and accurate mass produced movement with an impressive power reserve out of the factory.

While it doesn’t have sharply finished case lines, it’s a great vintage watch with real historical connection, and one that can still be picked up for a great price today!
