Kirov (1-MChZ), founded in 1930, became the first enterprise in the Soviet Union to specialize in the mass production of watches. The factory played a key role in the development of the USSR’s watch industry, producing both wristwatches and pocket watches. Its products were intended for civilian use as well as for the military, making them indispensable during the rise of the industrial era.
